Reviews, Google and AI search: looking after your B&B’s reputation

Why reviews and your Google Business Profile shape whether guests book you direct, and what to keep on top of.

By the Room Filler team ·

When a guest finds you on a booking site, the next thing many of them do is search for your name. What they see there — your reviews, your photos, your opening details and whether there’s a clear way to book with you — decides whether they book direct or go back to the booking site.

Keep your Google Business Profile accurate

  • Check your name, address, phone number and website link are right.
  • Use current photos of rooms, breakfast and the outside of the building.
  • Make sure the website link goes to a page where guests can book.

Ask for reviews after every stay

Most happy guests don’t leave a review unless they’re asked. A short, friendly message after check-out with a direct link to your Google review page is usually enough. Reply to reviews, good and bad, in a calm and helpful way.

Show up in AI search answers

More guests now ask AI assistants for somewhere to stay. Those answers lean on what’s written about you across the web: your website, your Google profile, reviews and mentions. Clear, consistent details in all of those places make it easier for you to be recommended.

If you’d rather not do it yourself
